An earth-toned smudge fan with a handle of braided cotton cording and leather. At the bottom I’ve unwound the braid and attached multiple wooden and plastic beads to create a unique fringe.

This 100% natural turkey feather fan (from my free ranging turkeys) is almost 15″ tall from tip to base (not counting the dangling beads).

As with all my creations, I rely on spiritual guidance from the pieces themselves to dictate what “clothes” they will wear. For whatever reason, this feather didn’t care for a wooden handle.

I instead wrapped the stem of the feather itself in cotton and leather, and then made the fringe for a bit of spice. The beads make a very soothing and delicate clicking sound when the fan is in use.
